Appointments

Appointment duration

Appointments last for one hour and initially we recommend one session per week and we generally work with clients between 6 and 12 weeks depending on progress, for example phobias can be treated over 4 sessions.

Appointments can be carried out face to face or via remotely zoom.

Scaling

During each session we will discuss progress since the previous appointment and we measure this by a process called scaling. The scaling section of the service enables us to identify specific areas that may be affecting you and your mental wellbeing. We then review areas of your life that need to progress and evolve and set mutually agreed small goals that will get you on the path to working toward a brighter more content future.

Hypnotherapy language patterns

Each appointment concludes with hypnotherapy which works with very specific language patterns to develop certain positive neurological pathways.

Music

The hypnotherapy session is conducted whilst playing specialist brainwave music. The music that we use works on bioelectrical brainwave activity and is a powerful tool The brain can be stimulated by binaural beats which have a rhythmic pulse matching the frequency range of specific brainwaves. This process is known as entrainment and has been shown to be very effective in producing the desired therapeutic states associated with each type of brainwave. In Binaural versions of the track, subliminal beats are embedded in the music beginning with a short higher frequency introduction which then settles into the chosen frequency range with occasional spikes to help maintain attention & focus. The music we work with taps into the following brainwaves:

Alpha Binaural Beats: 7 – 13 Hz Linked to creativity and the state of conscious relaxation and calmness.

Beta Binaural Beats: 13 – 40 Hz Known to be predominant during periods of concentration, activity, anxiety and arousal.

Delta Binaural Beats: 0.5 – 4 Hz Occur during periods of deep dreamless sleep and are linked to healing, recovery and pain relief.

Theta Binaural Beats: 4 – 7 Hz Associated with right-brain and subconscious insightful thinking, deep relaxation and mental imagery as well as meditation and REM sleep.

How you may feel during your session

Everybody responds differently to hypnotherapy and there is no right or wrong way to feel or behave. Some people feel very light almost as if they are floating where others may feel a heaviness in arms or legs. It is not unusual for the mind to wonder whilst under hypnosis and this is completely normal. Some people respond in a very emotional way others fall asleep so it really is a case by case basis as to how you will feel. The one constant is that Hypnotherapy is an incredibly relaxing and pleasant experience and you will always be in control throughout the process.
